An aged Mead with a “sweet to taste” but dry finish. An ale like mead has notes of melon and peach from Chenin Blanc grapes which gracefully complement the luscious, rich, creamy sweet notes of Banksia honey. Fresh acidity creates a long, delicate finish which can be drunk now or cellar for 1 years. This Mead is very versatile complimenting white fish, shellfish or game.
Rubee Red $28
The House of Honey’s “Shiraz Mead” has a ruby red core with vibrant purple hues. It is immediately sweet with mouth-filling, honey characters of butterscotch and crème caramel. These flavours dominate the front palate before melding seamlessly with plum, blackcurrant and blueberry derived from magnificent Swan Valley Shiraz and honey. Delicate acidity and soft tannins combine for a long fruity finish. Delicious chilled in summer, or room temperature in winter. Drink now or cellar with confidence for 2-3 years.
Sparkling Mead $25
A “spritzy” Mead, much like a sparkling wine. The delicate taste is achieved by adding a small amount of honey just before bottling. Refreshingly light on the palate this Mead offers subtle honey characteristics and is a great compliment to a cheese platter or with that sweet special someone.
