We’ve got a passion for honey, and the knowledge that comes with it.

You already know that honey tastes great, but there are a bunch of other whole-body benefits that comes with your favourite flavour hit.

Honey naturally sterilises wounds and burns, speeding up the healing process and preventing the growth of bacteria.

Honey is a natural throat soother. Next time you’ve got a sore throat, mix honey with your tea for some drug-free relief.

Thanks to its unique blend of biological sweeteners, honey provides a natural energy boost, improves stamina, and assists in muscle recovery.

Let’s get down to buzzness

Everything you need to know about our honey.

We specialise in a range of raw honey varieties. All our honeys are independently tested and verified for activity — by an independent laboratory — in accordance to world standard testing methods. In other words, our honey really hits the spot for taste and quality.

It really is rawesome.

“Raw” honey means the natural vitamins, living enzymes, and other nutritional elements are preserved, culminating in exceptional nutritional value and strong health benefits. It becomes alkaline in the digestive system (it doesn't ferment in the stomach) and can be used to naturally counteract indigestion. Raw honey can also predigest starchy foods, like breads, making them easier on the gut. It relieves nausea and supplies energy when mixed with ginger and lemon juice.

Raw, unfiltered honey will usually granulate and crystallise to a thick consistency after a few months. If you see this happening to your honey, don’t panic or throw it out! It’s a sign that you’ve bought raw, unfiltered, high quality honey that’s remarkably good for you.

So, what’s the alternative to raw honey? A lot of commercial supermarket honey has been pasteurised. This means it’s heated to at least 70 degrees Celsius and then rapidly cooled to enabled easy filtering and bottling. Although it looks “cleaner”, smoother, and has more shelf-appeal, pasteurisation partially-destroys honey’s delicate aromas, yeast, and enzymes — which are responsible for activating vitamins and minerals in the body.

Putting the spotlight on Jarrah Honey.

The House of Honey is recognised as a Jarrah Honey connoisseur — this is our hero honey! It’s a one-of-a-kind honey only found in WA, because the Jarrah tree (Eucalyptus marginata) is a native tree unique to our climate. When Jarrah trees flower, they produce an abundance of blooms and the forest comes alive with busy bees’ collecting pollen and nectar. You can literally hear the forest humming as the bees’ work!

Jarrah Honey is an amber-coloured variety with a full-bodied nutty, malt flavour. Delicious in all cuisine, this honey is not only smooth on the palate, but has amazing healing abilities because it’s antibacterial and antifungal. While the healing effects of raw honey have been known for thousands of years, the Jarrah Honey variety has recently become popular for its medicinal properties, low glucose levels, and antimicrobial activity. Infection-causing bacteria is unable to survive in Jarrah Honey because it becomes dehydrated. This is what makes Jarrah such a powerful healer for wounds, burns, sore throats, sunburns, and ulcers.
